Member Benefits

Arbitration

DFA provides arbitration services to DFA members and non-members who have agreed to submit disputes to DFA for binding arbitration.  Any member of DFA, or any non-member who has a written agreement with a member of DFA to arbitrate disputes pursuant to the DFA arbitration procedures, may deliver to the Secretary of DFA a Request for Arbitration.  The standard DFA form of contract of sale includes such an arbitration clause.  In addition, a DFA member and a non-member may provide for DFA arbitration in a different form of contract of sale.

Free Training

DFA Members save big on the food safety training they need.

Food safety training plays a vital role in ensuring the well-being and health of consumers by equipping food handlers and professionals with the necessary knowledge and skills to maintain safe and hygienic practices in the food industry. These services provide comprehensive training programs that cover essential topics such as sanitation procedures, allergen management, and HACCP principles. By promoting best practices and fostering a culture of safety, these services contribute to the overall protection of public health and the reputation of the California agriculture industry.

Two Registrations

DFA members receive two complimentary registrations to every Safe Food Alliance training - up to GFSI.

Monthly Member Refresher Training

Improve knowledge retention & protect your brand

Keeping up with all the latest food safety information can be overwhelming. Not to mention, distributing that information to your team and ensuring they retain it!

  • 2 Hour virtual course You can attend from the comfort of your home or office. Our courses are hosted via Zoom. Let us know if you need help setting this up before the course.
  • Free for members to attend – These refresher training courses are MEMBER ONLY events and are free for all members to attend.
  • Bring as many staff members as you’d like –  Unlike public courses (where you can bring two staff per course), you can register as many team members as you want for each course. If you have a training center at your facility, you can even put the course on the big screen and have your whole staff watch live.
  • Get your questions answered – The whole point of these courses is to help you, our members. There are no stupid questions.
  • Access recordings via on-demand library – If you cannot attend live or can’t take notes quickly enough, we will create an online library where you can access the recordings.

DFA Member Audit Program

Every DFA Member Facility is entitled to a free member audit; a benefit DFA has been providing for over 60 years. These inspections help food processors verify that they not only meet but exceed current regulatory requirements by the United States Food & Drug Administration; these audits also help to drive continual improvement in companies’ food safety programs.

Pinnacle Club Program

All DFA Members that participate in the member audit program are eligible to become part of the Pinnacle Club. The Pinnacle Club is a group of DFA members who have demonstrated an exceptional commitment to food safety and quality throughout the calendar year.

In order to be considered apart of the Pinnacle Club, a member must participate in both audits (either 2 GMP audits or 1 FSMA audit and 1 GMP audit). This participation allows the facility to receive a third-party audit certificate upon the completion of the audit calendar year. To receive a distinguished Pinnacle Club plaque, a member must demonstrate excellent performance and score in both audits.
